On May 1st we are holding a special village funday and celebration. There will be a grand opening ceremony at 11.00am at the station, including a tape cutting by Anne Marie Edwards, a local author. Those taking part will be dressed in Victorian costume and we are encouraging all those attending to dress up as well. The station entrance in the car park will be decorated. Ocean Harmony will perform. The crowds will then be led by a pied piper into the New Forest Hotel garden for children’s games, a marquee with a history of the station exhibition and also children painting a railway frieze. There is a jazz band and food in the hotel garden. We aim to have a Victorian fun day. Do come – but on foot or by public transport if possible as car parking will be limited.
